synopsis:
Returning from a library in Opelousas, La a boy is mistaken for a suspect on the run. This leads the boy to wonder about his own identity and how he is perceived. One night after praying to God about not knowing the meaning of his name and DNA flowing through his bloodline, his ancestor, Cookie, is transported to life. He tells the boy of his journey overcoming fear in order to be courageous. The Blacklegged Indian, Dragonaise, interrupts their conversation and takes the boy on a journey through the historical times of Opelousas, La. With the guidance of Dragonaise, the boy discovers and meets every bloodline in his veins. The ancestors all take the boy on personal journeys through historical events around the world. Teaching the boy lessons of courage, perseverance, and life.
